The reality of post-war Liberia is that many of its young women have misunderstood their role, believing that the only way to pay for food and education is by selling the only commodity they own- their own bodies. The lie that they were born to be slaves to men, that the only asset they own is their own sexuality, is one that is ruining the current generation. Bridge of Hope Girls’ School supports an education which emphasizes wholesome body images, Christian family values, and sound Biblical teaching, empowering girls to become what God intended them to be- noble woman of high moral character and strong, loving convictions. Counseling which involves forgiveness, building self-esteem, healing the past, and teaching life skills for the future characterizes Bridge of Hope Girls’ School, grades 1-7.

Small class size- no more than 25 per class- keeps student/teacher ratio down for a more effective learning classroom atmosphere.  Overhead projectors, video clips, and
computers make learning productive and interactive for the students. Text books are stored at the school and a tutor is hired to help students at risk.

Identity in Christ is emphasized and respect and friendship is encouraged and monitored. Scripture is studied daily in chapel  as well as Bible classes. Teaching  life skills in building self-esteem, setting realistic goals, and achieving academic excellence will help these students to blossom into the women God intended. They must be empowered to creatively work for change in a country desperate for new infrastructure that will last and build an effective and peaceful country.
